Leatherface is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. He first appeared in the 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as a mentally disabled, cannibalistic serial killer known for wearing masks made of human skin and wielding a chainsaw. The character was created by Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel, drawing partial inspiration from the crimes of real-life murderer Ed Gein.
