The Erie Zoo, formally known as the Erie Zoological Park and Botanical Garden of Northwestern Pennsylvania, is a zoological park and botanical garden located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Established in 1924 as the Glenwood Zoo by the Erie Public Parks Association, it officially opened its permanent facilities in 1930. The zoo spans 15 acres, housing over 400 animals and more than 600 species of plants.
