The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is an Indian regional political party predominantly active in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. Founded on October 17, 1972, by actor-turned-politician M. G. Ramachandran, it emerged as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The party adheres to the principles of socialism and secularism, based on the ideals of C. N. Annadurai.
